The 14th Annual Tour de Mississauga event is returning on Sunday, September 26 with self-guided bike routes located throughout the city. This family-friendly, non-competitive cycling event encourages residents of all ages and cycling abilities to hop on their bike and experience Mississauga’s cycling network. This year, the City has marked out five bike routes on Mississauga’s cycling infrastructure that range from 5km to 100 km. As a self-guided event, participants can enjoy the routes at their own pace with plenty of personal space, making this a perfect event for both families with young children and more advanced riders. With many Mississauga residents discovering or re-discovering their love for biking during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tour de Mississauga provides an opportunity to get outside, get active, show community pride and safely enjoy biking in the city.
Tour de Mississauga Event Details:
The Tour de Mississauga is one of Ontario’s largest non-competitive cycling events. New this year, the event will take place along five loops throughout the city, providing participants with the opportunity to experience different Mississauga neighbourhoods. As self-guided rides, participants can enjoy the routes at a time of their choosing either solo or with their household, while following COVID-19 health and safety guidelines.
Mississauga residents of all ages and cycling abilities who want to be active outdoors and are interested in seeing their neighbourhood by bike.

The Tour de Mississauga bike routes will be located out across the city. Participants can use the online maps and wayfinding signage and markings to guide them along the route. Staff will also be present at the starting location of each route.

The routes do not include any road closures and will take place on the City’s cycling network. This includes on-road bike lanes, shared pathways and multi-use trails. With no road closures needed as part of the routes, residents are free to cycle these routes in the future as they continue to get to explore Mississauga’s cycling network.
Registration is required to participate and includes a $10 entry fee for those 17 years old and up. During registration, participants will be asked to register for their route(s) of choice. All registrants, including those under the age of 17, will receive a Tour de Mississauga T-shirt which they can pick up at the starting location of their chosen route.
Participants can register online until September 15th at 12pm.
For the safety of all road and trail users, cyclists are reminded to follow the rules of the road, be courteous to other trail users and obey all shared trail etiquette. Helmets must be worn by cyclists under the age 18; however, everyone is encouraged to wear a helmet when riding their bike.
When getting outdoor exercise, residents are advised to follow COVID-19 guidelines by staying at least two metres (six feet) from those not in their household and wearing a mask when physical distancing cannot be maintained.
